What can I learn about being a PASTOR?

At Heartland Baptist Bible College, our theme begins with “Preaching the Word.” We are passionate about training men to preach biblically, and it shows in our pastoral ministry course of study.

How can I prepare to be a MISSIONARY?

The second part of Heartland’s two-part theme is “Reaching the World.” Worldwide missions is God’s command to each local church, and we help churches fulfill the Great Commission by equipping faithful, fervent laborers.

What can I learn about YOUTH MINISTRY?

Turmoil in our society has left many young people without biblical guidance. We train youth workers to assist parents and churches in their work of transforming troubled teens into devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.

God-honoring music is a vital part of great church services. Heartland is committed to training music ministers and musicians with technical knowledge, biblical music philosophy, and a heart to serve the local church.

Heartland’s education majors are built on a solid foundation of biblical philosophy, academic excellence, and practical training. You can prepare to impact the next generation by specializing in elementary or secondary education.

How can I train to be involved in CHURCH MINISTRIES?

Many people want to serve the Lord but have no sense of calling to a particular leadership role. At Heartland, support roles are not second-class. We love to train “multi-tool” servants through our flexible and practical Church Ministries majors.

MINISTRY SECRETARY?

Church secretaries play a vital role in helping churches accomplish the work. If God wants you to serve as a ministry secretary, Heartland can help you prepare. From receptionist skills to graphic design, the proficiencies you need can be learned here.

How can I earn a 1-year certificate of BIBLE TRAINING?

Believers who are not called to vocational ministry are still expected to bring a biblical worldview, a heart for souls, and spiritual character to the careers they pursue. Through our Bible certificate program, you can devote a year of education to studying God’s Word and developing your relationship with Him.

How can I further my education in SEMINARY?

God’s work is worthy of his laborers continually sharpening their ministry tools. If God leads you to continue your education beyond a four-year program, consider Heartland Baptist Seminary’s in-depth yet practical training—which includes courses in biblical languages, homiletics, biblical counseling, and more.

FAQs

When should I apply to Heartland?

You are encouraged to request information about Heartland at any time, but since our application items are only valid for one year, we recommend starting the application process in September during your senior year of high school.  Heartland does not have a deadline for completing an application, per se, but the sooner you apply, the better we can help you be prepared for the upcoming school year.

How many majors does Heartland offer?

Heartland offers 15 majors across 6 academic departments. The majors include 4-year programs in a variety of pastoral, missions, youth ministries, education, and music disciplines, as well as a 2-year Ministry Secretarial program and a 1-year Bible Certificate program. Where would I live if I came to Heartland?

Single Students:

Residence halls are available for all single students.

All full-time single students (12 hours or more) under the age of 25 are required to live on campus or at home with their parents. All single students under the age of 25, whether full or part-time, who desire to live off campus must complete an Application to Live Off Campus which will be reviewed by the administration. The application is available in the Dean of Students’ Office.

Married students live off campus.
