Academic Dean/ Registrar's Office Registrar's Office
Registrar
The Academic Dean/Registrar’s Office (ADRO) is responsible for academic affairs, admissions, records, and financial aid. The office also has supervisory responsibility for the college library, the yearbook, and audio/visual equipment. Following are the areas of responsibilities for the Academic Dean/Registrar’s Office and a brief overview.
• Faculty
• Foreign Students / Immigration
Academic Affairs
In the area of academic affairs, ADRO oversees all curriculum matters including the programs of study offered at Heartland and the various academic activities and events such as registration, orientation, May graduation, and special lectures. In addition, this office coordinates the Christian Service and Campus Service programs.
Admissions
In the admissions area, this office sends out college information to student prospects, parents, churches, and schools. As part of admissions, ADRO processes application forms from those interested in attending Heartland. When the application process is complete, the student applicant is provided with a letter of acceptance, which allows the student to register and enroll in classes.
The Academic Dean as the chief educational officer of the college coordinates the academic activities of the faculty to include teaching responsibilities, course preparation, and faculty training.
The library provides reference, study facilities, and computer access for the student body. The library houses in excess of 25,000 volumes with a high concentration of Bible and theology books. In addition to books, the library has a variety of magazines, selected audio aids, pamphlet files, curriculum materials, video library, and a variety of computer resources available on the library research drive.

Student Records
The official student record of each individual student is maintained by this office. These records contain the following: application forms and reapplication forms as required; college transcript of classes taken and grades achieved; curriculum guide and record of academic meetings and evaluations; copies of communications both to the student and in reference to the student; particular semester forms and students statements; grade reports; academic and discipline reports; and semester picture record.
The college records maintained by the ADRO include not only the semester academic files but also the official records related to its academic standing, approvals, and associations.
Financial Aid
This office coordinates the financial aid opportunities available at the college. Heartland does not participate in any Title IV or federal financial aid programs such as Pell Grant or student loans; however, Heartland has a limited number of institutional scholarships that are provided for need, merit, and service. In addition, limited scholarships and grants are available from special trust funds and foundations, institutions, organizations, and individuals; and Heartland will accept any grants secured by the student from private or public entities.
One part of ADRO's financial aid responsibility includes the administration of veterans' educational benefits. The academic dean serves as the VA Certifying Official for the college and maintains the veteran records and monitors the academic progress of the veterans. Go to the following location for more information about veterans' benefits.
Foreign students are welcome at Heartland, and the college does everything within its power to facilitate the admission of eligible foreign applicants under the F-1 student status. The academic dean serves as the Certifying Official with responsibility to communicate with the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) under the Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) arm of the Department of Homeland Security concerning the admission and attendance of the foreign student at the college. See the Foreign Student page under Admissions for more information.
